I wrote Cottage Number 2 during the 2007 Wyn Lit 73
Hour Novella Writing Contest. The original entry was
21,535 words written during the 73 hours. Selected by a
panel of judges as a winner, the author developed the
novella into this story of 30,904 words.

The premise of the contest subject was to write a series of
stand-alone stories covering 10 weeks at a resort on the
shores of Lake Nipissing. The stories had to have a
connecting link that tied the stories into a novella. I
chose to make a ghost my connecting link!

"In Cottage Number 2, Walton takes us on an exciting and
haunting ride from humour, to murder, to an endless treasure
hunt and more. Walton has created a truly enjoyable read." -
